About the book: Our Little Histories tells a big story – the hopes, dreams, and fates of the Jews of Eastern Europe—by way of a small story, about the life of one Jewish family over a period of 165 years. In seven chapters that move backwards in time, from modern day Chicago, through a reality installation in rural Belarus, 1960’s Tel Aviv, a pre-independence kibbutz, 1930’s Chicago, pre-war Vilna, turn of the century Minsk, and finally, to the tiny shtetl of Prepoisk, their journey plays out, not as a single overriding narrative, but as a collection of small, intimate histories. Now, when Jews everywhere are confronted with new challenges and questions, the novel offers a fresh perspective on the unfolding of Jewish history, and our own part in it.

Janice Segal Weizman is also the author of the award-winning novel, The Wayward Moon, which has recently been reissued with Koren Publishers.
A native of Toronto, Janice grew up at Beth Tikvah and has now lived in Israel for almost forty years. Find out more at www.janiceweizman.com
