Our Choir Conductor

Alexander Veprinskiy, Beth Tikvah's Choir Conductor, has been the conductor of the Adath Israel Choir since 2011. He earned his Music and Piano Teacher's Degree followed by his Masters Degree in Opera and Symphonic Conducting from the Lviv State Conservatory (the Music University in Ukraine). From 1994 until the present, he has taught piano privately and theory and harmony at the Toronto School of Music (2002-present), as well as teaching at Roberts Music Centre in Toronto (1997-1998) and Majesty Music School (1998-2008). He has also conducted the Beth Emeth Synagogue Choir (2007-2010) and the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir (2002-2013). Alexander is the Artistic Director and Principal conductor of Shevchenko Musical Ensemble of Toronto (1995-present) and has experience as a chorister in the Beth Tzedec Synagogue Choir (1994-2002). He also composes and arranges music and his fluency in English, Russian and Ukraine has allowed him to work with all segments of the Jewish community and beyond.
